Learning the homestead life in a digital world.
And so it begins. How is your garden doing? We had a super late frost this year which delayed getting everything out, but my garden is finally producing! The spinach and radishes have already finished. Beets, broccoli and cabbage are getting super close! The cauliflower has huge leaves but no cauliflower? 🤷🏻♀️
The lettuce still hasn’t bolted so we are trying to eat up as much of it as we can.
And the zucchini have started producing! If you feel like you don’t have a green thumb, I highly recommend zucchini. I swear they will grow under any conditions.

We are overrun with warm weather seedlings. I was hoping to get them out this week but then noticed we are dropping below freezing again for the weekend. Yuck! It was almost 90°F yesterday. Today it’s around 40°F and they’re calling for SNOW overnight. 😒

One of the downsides of owning land in this dry climate. We seem to be growing a lot of this weird grass/weed this year 🤷🏻♀️. Sometimes I think It would be so nice to live somewhere where it RAINS and grass grows on it’s own 🙂 but we are so thankful to have this little square of dirt to call ours. It will take a lot of time and work, but we will make it beautiful!

So much for planting out the rest of garden. Looks like it will have to wait another week. Have you planted anything out yet? I only have the cold hardy stuff out so far

My husband is very suspicious of this method of #preserving #eggs - what do you think? Have you done this?
